Bundesliga preview – Werder Bremen vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction.

Bremen will be without midfielder Fin Bartels who is suspended for the relegation decider on Saturday. The most logical replacement, Sambou Yatabare is injured and Viktor Skripnik could opt for 19-year-old Max Eggestein who came on as a late substitution against Cologne. Full-back Santiago Garcia is a doubtful starter after suffering concussion in the 0-0 draw and Janek Sternberg is on standby if required.

Frankfurt centre-forward Haris Seferovic returns from a one-match which probably means Luc Castaignos will start on the bench. Leading scorer Alexander Meier is back in training after undergoing knee surgery but time is against the 33-year-old getting back to full fitness by the weekend. Central midfielder Szabolcs Huszti will miss the game through suspension and with Stefan Reinartz out of action, Marc Stendera could step in.

Possible Line-ups

Werder Bremen 4-2-3-1 formation: Wiedwald; Gebre Selassie, Vestergaard, Djilobodji, Sternberg; Fritz, Grillitsch; Oztunali, Junuzovic, Eggestein; Pizarro

Eintracht Frankfurt 4-2-3-1 formation: Hradecky; Regasel, Abraham, Russ, Oczipka; Hasebe, Stendera; Aigner, Fabian, Ben-Hatiri; Seferovic

Werder Bremen vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction

Bremen must win this game to remain in the Bundesliga and go into the relegation decider having won the last two at home. They defeated Wolfsburg 3-2 in the Weserstadion on 16 April and hammered Stuttgart 6-2 a week past Monday. The 2-1 defeat by Augsburg in early April is the only loss in the last nine home games but five of those matches have been draws. Frankfurt won their last three games and last week’s 1-0 victory against Dortmund will have lifted confidence to sky high levels. They had previously won 2-1 at Darmstadt to halt a run of five consecutive away defeats. The losing run included trips to Bayern, Leverkusen and Monchengladbach. But, Frankfurt have fared better when visiting teams around them, recording wins at Stuttgart and Hannover in addition to the aforementioned Darmstadt with draws at Hoffenheim and Hamburg. A draw will send Bremen down and having shut out Dortmund last weekend, Frankfurt can get the point they need to survive.
