Reading face Fulham in a Championship Play-Off Semi-Final 2nd Leg clash this Tuesday night. Read the match predictions to find out why a home win is the betting tip at the Madejski Stadium. The tie is delicately poised at 1-1 after Tom Cairney cancelled out Jordan Obita’s opener in the first leg and the Royals will be banking on their home advantage to get them over the line.

Reading vs Fulham Preview

Reading will be missing skipper Paul McShane after his rash challenge in the first leg resulted in a red card. Goalscorer Jordan Obita is unlikely to feature after picking up an ankle injury in that game. Calum Harriott, Sandro Wieser, Stephen Quinn and striker Deniss Rakels are all out injured. Jaap Stam is likely to switch to a back-four here in light of defensive absences and that has been a preferred tactic at home this season.

Fulham couldn’t find a breakthrough while Chris Martin was on the pitch and his position is under threat here. Floyd Ayite could be given the nod up-front with Ryan Sessegnon and Sone Aluko providing width. Ragnar Sigurdsson and Michael Madl are still out injured, leaving the visitors short in central defence. Neeskens Kebano and Lucas Piazon are both pushing for inclusion but may have to settle for a spot on the bench.  £20 pays £64 on the Reading win at Betfair

Reading vs Fulham Prediction

Reading were on the back foot for much of the first half at Craven Cottage and got their reward for some dogged defending when the referee playen an advantage to allow Jordan Obita’s pinpoint strike which went in-off the post. The Royals have been much better in front of a home crowd this season and that will surely have a bearing on this encounter.

Fulham’s early spell of dominance ended up being fruitless and there was an element of fortune about their equaliser, with Tom Cairney pouncing on an unlikely loose ball in the box. The Cottagers seemed to run out of steam a little after a fast and furious start and there could be some tired legs in the squad.

Reading have won six of their last seven home matches in the Championship and are unbeaten in ten games at the Madejski. That run started with a 1-0 victory over Fulham in January and the Royals are tipped to emulate that result to book a place in the playoff final.

Reading take on Fulham in the Championship this Tuesday evening. Read the match predictions to find out why an away win is the betting tip at the Madejski Stadium. Reading slipped to a 3-2 defeat way to Derby County at the weekend while Fulham played out a 1-1 draw away to Queens Park Rangers.

Reading vs Fulham Preview

Reading will be without Jordan Obita after he was sent off in the loss to Derby. Winger Callum Harriott, midfielder Stephen Quinn and striker Deniss Rakels are all out injured. Chris Gunter and Tyler Blackett will be asked to provide width but that could leave the hosts susceptible to counter attacks. The Royals will be pinning their hopes on Garath McCleary and Yann Kermorgant to get the goals here.

Fulham have both Floyd Ayite and Neeskens Kebano at the Africa Cup of Nations. There are no fresh injury concerns, so a relatively unchanged lineup is expected. Denis Odoi and Ryan Sessegnon will be pushing for inclusion in the full-back positions. Chris Martin has been in good form of late and can move onto double figures, if he finds the net in this match. £20 pays £46 on the Fulham win at bet365

Reading vs Fulham Prediction

Reading’s form has really taken a knock of late and they come into this game on a three-game losing streak. Granted they weren’t expected to get past Manchester United in the FA Cup but the 0-1 home defeat to QPR came as a shock. The Royals looked better against Derby but still shipped three goals and that does not bode well ahead of this match.

Fulham are pushing for the playoffs on the back of some good form. The Cottagers bounced back from defeat to Brighton to record a well-earned 1-2 success away to Cardiff City. They followed up by putting in a truly dominant display against Barnsley (see video above) and will have been disappointed to only draw with QPR.

Fulham have only lost twice in twelve Championship matches and have a phenomenal away record this season. They’ve scored at least twice in eight of their last nine matches against Reading, which has helped the last seven meetings between these sides produce over 2.5 goals.
