Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview
Crystal Palace take on Manchester United in a televised Premier League match this Wednesday. Read the match predictions to find out why an away win is the betting tip at Selhurst Park. The Eagles drew 3-3 away to relegation candidates Hull City on Saturday while the Red Devils ran out 1-0 winners at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Preview
Crystal Palace have Jason Puncheon suspended which should pave the way for Yohan Cabaye to return to the starting XI. James Tomkins has to prove his fitness but is expected to miss out, allowing Martin Kelly to continue at right-back. Pape Soaure, Connor Wickham, Jonathan Benteke and Steve Mandanda are all injured while Loic Remy is short of match fitness.
Man Utd will be missing Henrikh Mkhitaryan who was stretchered off with an ankle injury in the win over Spurs. One of Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata or Marcus Rashford will replace him here. Antonio Valencia is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season which could see Ashley Young deployed at right-back. Tim Fosu-Mensah is another option and Eric Bailly is expected to come back into the heart of defence.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Betting Tips
- Palace have won 2 drawn 2 and lost 6 of their last 10 matches
- Man Utd have won 5 drawn 4 and lost 1 of their last 10 matches
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Palace have scored an average of 2.0 goals and conceded an average of 2.4 goals per game
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Man Utd have scored an average of 1.8 goals and conceded an average of 0.7 goals per game

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Prediction
Crystal Palace are a thoroughly entertaining side to watch from a neutral point of view but their inability to defend must be frustrating for fans of the club. Crystal Palace have conceded at least 2 goals in 6 of their last 7 Premier League matches, so it’s little wonder that they are looking over their shoulder at the relegation places.
Manchester United have been playing well without reward, so the win over Spurs will be a big boost for the squad. In truth, the title looks to be beyond the Red Devils now but results at the weekend went their way in the race for a top 4 finish. United go into this match unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League outings.
A glance at Palace’s recent results suggests there will be a few goals in this game. However, the inability to keep clean sheets could be their undoing once again. Man Utd haven’t tasted defeat in 11 matches against the Eagles and I’m tipping the visitors to come out on top in an entertaining match up.

FA Cup final preview – Crystal Palace vs Manchester United prediction.
The Crystal Palace squad was given a clean bill of health after Connor Wickham resumed training earlier than expected this week. The striker had been struggling with an ankle strain but was able to join midfielder Yohan Cabaye who also returned to full training after missing Sunday’s trip to Southampton with a sore rib. Winger Wilfried Zaha had also been a slight concern but he has been passed fit to face Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday.
Louis van Gaal was dealt a blow when Timothy Fosu-Mensah was dropped by Holland for the forthcoming friendlies due to fitness concerns and the youngster is doubtful for the FA Cup final along with two other Manchester United full-backs, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo. United’s final league match was re-arranged for Tuesday and van Gaal may decide to stay with the same eleven that started the 3-1 victory at Old Trafford. That would leave Memphis Depay and Ander Herrera on the bench along with Morgan Schneiderlin who has recovered from the illness that kept him out on Tuesday.
Possible Line-ups
Crystal Palace 4-2-3-1 formation: Hennessey; Ward, Dann, Delaney, Souare; Jedinak, Cabaye; Zaha, Bolasie, Puncheon; Wickham
Manchester United 4-1-4-1 formation: De Gea; Borthwick-Jackson, Smalling, Blind, Valencia; Carrick; Lingard, Rooney, Mata, Martial; Rashford
Statistics
- Crystal Palace have won 3 drawn 3 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
- Manchester United have won 7 drawn 1 and lost 2 of their last 10 matches
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Crystal Palace have scored an average of 0.9 goals and conceded an average of 1.3 goals per game
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Manchester United have scored an average of 1.5 goals and conceded an average of 1 goal per game
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of Crystal Palace’s previous 10 matches
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Manchester United’s previous 10 matches
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Prediction
Palace made a bright start to the season until a lack of goals took its toll in the league with only two clubs finishing the season with a worse goal tally. Pardew’s men have lost the last three league games but have been safe from relegation for some time and have probably been focused on the FA Cup. The Eagles’ route to the final has matched them with Premier League opponents in every round except for Championship Reading in the quarter-finals and progressed from each at the first time of asking. They won away at Southampton, Tottenham and Reading with a home victory against Stoke and defeated Watford 2-1 in the semi-final at Wembley.
United missed out on Champions League qualification on goal difference and will look to the recent game at West Ham where they led 2-1 but conceded twice in the last 15 minutes to leave Upton Park with nothing. It was United’s only defeat in the last eight games in which they won six times. Manchester United played lower league opponents in the earlier rounds until taking two attempts to eliminate West Ham in the quarter-finals before defeating Everton 2-1 in the semis.
Palace’s extra-time victory in the League Cup four seasons ago is their only success over Manchester United in the Premier League era and the Eagles may have to wait longer to land their first FA Cup title.

Premier League preview – Crystal Palace vs Manchester United prediction
Palace are without new boy Kwesi Appiah while there are still questions over the fitness of Connor Wickham, Marouane Chamakh, and Pape Souare. Yohan Cabaye and Jason Puncheon are also doubts.
United are only missing Luke Shaw and Paddy McNair to injury. Winger Antonio Valencia and striker James Wilson are expected to miss out.
Possible Line-ups
Palace: 4-2-3-1 formation: Hennessey; Kelly, Delaney, Dann, Soare; McCarthur, Cabaye; Sako, Puncheon, Zaha; Bolasie
Manchester United: 4-2-3-1 formation: De Gea; Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Rojo; Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger; Mata, Herrera, Martial; Rooney
Statistics
- Palace have won 4, drawn 1 and lost 5 of their last 10 matches
- United have won 5, drawn 3 and lost 2 of their last 10 matches
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Palace have scored an average of 1.2 goals and conceded an average of 1.4 goals per game
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, United have scored an average of 1.6 goals and conceded an average of 0.9 goals per game
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of Palace’s previous 10 matches
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 7 of United’s previous 10 matches
Prediction
These two sides go into this clash after bright starts to the season respectively and sit in the top 10 of the Premier League table.
United have had a difficult few games. After drawing against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League they had 0-0 draws against Manchester City and Middlesbrough respectively, although they lost in penalties to the later.
The Red Devils will be slight favorites but Selhurst Park is never an easy place to go, and Louis Van Gaal’s side can expect an intimidating atmosphere.

Premier League football tips – Crystal Palace vs Man Utd prediction
A number of players who were dropped to the bench for last weeks defeat at Chelsea could return, including Martin Kelly, Mile Jedinak and Glenn Murray. The likes of Jerome Thomas, Marouane Chamakh and Frazier Campbell are all doubtful, meaning Murray could lead the line with Bolasie playing out wide.
Louis van Gaal is still without Michael Carrick, Marcos Rojo, Jonny Evans, Rafael and Luke Shaw, which means that defence picks itself once again. Further forward, there are no such injury concerns and Angel Di Maria is pushing for a starting place, which could mean one of Blind or Young missing out.
Probable Line-ups
Crystal Palace: 4-3-3 formation: Speroni; Kelly, Dann, Delaney, Ward; Jedinak, McArthur, Puncheon; Zaha, Murray, Bolasie
Man Utd: 4-1-4-1 formation: De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Blind; Herrera; Rooney, Fellaini, Young, Mata; Van Persie
- Crystal Palace have won 5 and lost 5 of their last 10 matches
- Man Utd have won 6 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Crystal Palace have scored an average of 1.5 goals and conceded an average of 1.3 goals per game
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Man Utd have scored an average of 1.6 goals and conceded an average of 1.1 goals per game
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Crystal Palace’s previous 10 matches
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Man Utd’s previous 10 matches
- The reverse fixture finished 1-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford
Both of these teams have come back down to earth with a bump in recent weeks. Crystal Palace have lost their last 3 Premier League games, without scoring a goal and this leaves them firmly in mid-table.
Manchester United have also struggled in their last 3 Premier League games, losing each of them, also without finding the back of the net. With both Arsenal and Manchester City pulling away above them, Louis van Gaal is once again looking over his shoulder at Liverpool, who just 4 points behind in fifth.
Alan Pardew will want his team to turn around their recent poor form and finish the season on a high and what better way than defeating Manchester United at Selhurst Park. However, Manchester United have been playing some decent football and can be only a matter of time before they find the back of the net.
