Europa League preview – Liverpool vs Sevilla prediction.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to make wholesale changes to the Liverpool side that drew 1-1 with West Brom on Sunday. Jordan Henderson returned from injury to line up at the weekend but is likely to be on the bench with Emre Can, James Milner and Adam Lallana favourites to start in the middle for the Europa League final on Wednesday. Divock Origi is said to be 50/50 but Klopp will probably look to pairing Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge after the rousing semi-final second leg victory at Anfield.

Sevilla will be without two key players in the experienced left-back Benoit Tremoulinas and attacking midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli. Kevin Gameiro is a certain starter after being rested at the weekend, the French striker is the form of his career and has scored 7 goals in the competition since Sevilla joined in the round of 32.

Possible Line-ups

Liverpool 4-3-3 formation: Mignolet; Clyne, Lovren, Toure, Moreno; Milner, Coutinho, Can; Lallana. Sturridge, Firmino

Liverpool vs Sevilla Prediction

Liverpool showed great resilience in the two previous rounds to earn a place in the Europa League final at St Jakob-Park in Basel on Wednesday. Klopp’s men fought back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 against Dortmund in the quarter-final second leg at Anfield and overcame a 1-0 first leg deficit to beat Villarreal 3-1 on aggregate in the semi-final. It is Jurgen Klopp’s second cup final of the season, Liverpool lost on penalties to Manchester City in the League Cup final. The Reds have only won once away from home in this competition and have only scored four goals in seven trips away. Sevilla manager Unai Emery laid his stall out to retain the Europa League crown once his side was eliminated at the Champions league group stage. Sevilla’s domestic form has suffered with only three points from the last nine league games as Emery saved his star players for Europe. They have already played at St Jakob-Park, when drawing 0-0 with Basel earlier in the competition and like Liverpool, have only won once away from home in the competition so far, when defeating fellow Spanish side Athletic Club in the quarter-final. Liverpool have eliminated strong opposition to reach the final and can finish the job in Basel.
