Free golf tips for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am on the Monterey Peninsular this week. It’s going to be a bleak week, weather wise in the U.K but a visit to one of the most beautiful courses in the world, Pebble Beach in California always cheers the golf fan. It’s has stunning views, and the magnificent coastline is a wonderful backdrop for a course that Jack Nicklaus said if he could only play one course again, it would be here.

However, it’s a Pro Am and he may change his mind if he had a six hour round in the company of Larry the Cable Guy and Ray Romano hacking it round. There are three courses used for this event, with Pebble Beach used twice, and Spyglass Hill and Monterey the once. The latter course is by far the easiest, where the greens are larger, whilst Spyglass is more treelined and is the hardest of the three. Pebble Beach is quite short at 6,816 yards and the main defence of this Par 72 course is the small greens and any wind. Players don’t necessarily need to be accurate off the tee but a good putter is essential here to win.

I’m afraid our golf betting tip last week, Cabrera-Bello got the wrong side of the draw in Dubai, as the wind basically ensured only the late starters on Thursday really contended. So that just emphasises the significance for keeping an eye on those long range forecasts. It’s forecast to be fairly windy the first two days at least but appears that everyone will get a fair share of it.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am golf betting tips

Justin Rose E/W 14/1 Corals (7 Places)

I have been quietly impressed with Justin Rose’s start to the season and the Englishman is the main golf tip here. His driving has been long and fairly accurate, and he’s been finding the greens regularly. It’s actually his putting which has been of concern, where he has missed some short ones to make some momentum stoppers in his round. As I said you need to be a good putter to win here but I’m willing to give him a chance for a few reasons. The greens are slower here, which generally plays to European experience, the greens are Poa Annua seed which he is a renowned good reader of the lines and it’s fairly early in the season, so he may just catch fire with the flat stick yet. Wind should not really harm Rose, and this renowned good links player should be at home here, as a a debut sixth seemed to prove last year.

Jonas Blixt 125/1 E/W Coral (7 Places)

Another European I quite like here is Jonas Blixt and the Swede is my second tip to finish in the money. He’s only shown glimmers of form this season with a tied 52nd and 20th in his last two starts, but he did have a 64 in the second round of the Phoenix Open, so hopefully his game can’t be to far away. He was third here last year and I’m hopeful of a decent showing this week at massive odds.

J B Holmes 40/1 E/W Paddy Power (7 Places)

For my last golf tip I will put up J B Holmes who likes this part of the world and has some decent returns with a 2nd place and also another four top twenty appearances. His length off the tee sometimes disguises what a good all round golfer he his and he can be a fine putter on his day. He’s also a good bad weather player and he has no problem putting on the weather proofs and knuckling down to grind out a score if needed.
