Golf Betting Tips – DP World Championship Golf
Golf betting tips for the DP World Championship, the final leg of the Race to Dubai which comes to an end this week at the Earth course in Dubai. There’s a few different players that can win overall, with Henrik Stenson or Danny Willett being the most obvious betting tips. But I have to say it’s quite difficult to get excited when the players don’t seem to be that bothered, (Rory didn’t play the last two events), and the competition seems to lose its sparkle coming after the end of the FED EX series. Haven’t said all that it’s still a great event this week and we can get our teeth into some good value golf tips.
The course is long this week and plays to a massive 7,675 yards. Power is a definite plus which is backed up by looking at past winners who include long drivers such as McIlroy, Stenson, Quiros and Westwood. Greens are undulating and fast, and there are plenty of birdie opportunities on offer. There’s a cracking last few holes with the last four holes all playing over water, which will definitely play on the players nerves if it’s tense.

Branden Grace 20/1 E/W Paddy Power (6 places)
Grace has had a very up and down season with his A game always tantalising just out of reach. It was all going very well for the South African in the Scottish Open when he looked like he was going to run away with the event, but bad shots just crept in from nowhere and he lost. It’s basically been like that for most of the season since, with a lot of high quality golf accompanied with some real dross. It’s bound to affect confidence but he looks as he backs on form, with a good third last week at the Nedbank. Hopefully that will be a springboard to another good week at a course that he loves. He had a 6th, 9th and a 3rd place finish in the past and another high place finish looks on the cards. On his twitter account, he seems motivated this week and says he’s excited to be playing there and appears to be exuding confidence.
Thorbjorn Olesen 100/1 E/W bet365
Well Thorbjorn can play golf like either a Greek god or like an aged member of ABBA, and it’s really not easy to know which will turn up. He was on song for most of the week when winning the Turkish Open with a mix of superb iron playing a hot putter. He then followed that up last week with some real rubbish at the Nedbank. But looking at his history, he has many times blown hot and cold in successive weeks and at appealing odds I’m happy to tip having small stakes for a possible large win. He has enough length to go well here and had a not too shabby 17th place finish last year. Hopefully with his confidence fairly high, he will produce this week.
Henrik Stenson 11/2 E/W Paddy Power
It was a little off putting to see Henrik play some ropy golf last week but I’m willing to believe that he can put that behind him and perform like the champion that he is. He loves this course and won back to back here in 2013 and 2014. It may need this type of event to lift the Swede’s concentration levels and hopefully he will want to make a point to the rest of the field to state who is the leader of the pack.
Other notables to look out for is the resurgent Victor Dubuisson and, if he can putt well enough, Andy Sullivan. Of course it’s hard not to see Rory going close but at prohibitive odds I’m willing to overlook him.
