Free golf betting tips for the Genesis Open (formerly the Northern Trust Open) which has attracted a mouth watering field for this year’s renewal at its long established venue, the renowned Riviera Country Club at Pacific Palisades, California. The Par 71 7,322yd undulating layout is an old-fashioned classic test of golf which very much fits into the category of a real shot makers paradise. Hitting fairways are at a premium at this track which features some of the smallest greens on tour. The forecast is a bit mixed, with a wet and blustery Friday forecast followed by a cool and sunny weekend.

Genesis Open golf tips

With regards to golf betting tips, it is very hard to rule out any of the high profile market leaders who all hold obvious chances. This event generally attracts quality winners and in all probability the recent trend of winners from the top end of the market on the PGA Tour will be continued in Los Angeles this week.

Hideki Matsuyama 10/1 E/W Paddy Power (7 Places).

The first betting tip this week is the Japanese win machine Hideki Matsuyama who arrives here fresh from his thrilling play-off win in the Waste Management Phoenix Open a couple of weeks ago. The 24 year old just cannot stop winning golf events in recent months, and is certainly the hottest player on the planet at the moment. He has only played here on three previous occasions but a Tied 11th last year and a Tied 4th in 2015 show this type of test is right up the street of this sublime tee to green merchant. His ability to move the ball from left to right is also an advantage, as Riviera sets up perfectly for faders of the ball.

Sergio Garcia 25/1 E/W Paddy Power. (7 Places)

The next golf tip is the mercurial Sergio Garcia who arrives in Los Angeles in a great frame of mind after his recent convincing win in the Dubai Classic on his season debut. The Spaniard seems to be in a good place both on and off the course at the moment and this bodes well for another strong performance at an old fashioned layout that sets up perfectly for him. He has solid course form around here, having finished Tied 4th in both 2012 and 2015, and his ability to move the ball both ways is a definite advantage around this venue.

Keegan Bradley 80/1 E/W Corals (7 Places)

The final golf betting tip this week is Keegan Bradley, who has shown a welcome return to form in recent months after a lean spell which coincided with his switch to a conventional putting style after the anchor ban. The feisty American finished Tied 4th in the recent Farmers Insurance Open but he had already shown with two other top ten finishes this season that he was finally getting to grips with his new style of putting. He has shown, with a play-off loss here in 2012 and a Tied 4th in 2015, that this track really suits his eye and at decent odds he looks the each-way value in this top class renewal.
