Free horse racing tip for the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. The Qipco 2000 Guineas is the highlight on Saturday’s high-quality card at Headquarters but it is the five furlong Longholes Palace House Stakes which appeals more as a betting medium. The William Haggas-trained Muthmir looks the value for our free racing tip and can take the speed test for champion jockey Jim Crowley who will be partnering the son of Invincible Spirit for the first time.
Horse racing tip for Palace House Stakes at Newmarket
The minimum trip on fast ground offers perfect conditions for the seven-year-old who got back to winning ways when outclassing the opposition at Bath on his seasonal reappearance recently. That was the gelding’s first victory since landing the Group 2 Qatar King George Stakes at Goodwood in July 2015 and was far from disgraced in an effort to repeat that performance 12 months later, finishing a close up six behind several of Saturday’s rivals.
Washington DC (second) and Marsha (fifth) may struggle to confirm the form on these terms while the runner-up there, Goldream, ran well below his best during the rest of the season. Last year’s winner Profitable went on to win the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot but has shown his best when there has been some cut in the ground so may struggle under the quick conditions on his first start of the present campaign.
The lightly-raced Priceless could make his mark in the sprinting division this season along with Stewards’ Cup winner Dancing Star but at the 11-1 available with Ladbrokes and Coral, Muthmir looks sure to go close for his in-form trainer.
