Netherlands take on Italy in an international friendly this Tuesday night. Read the match predictions to find out why an away win is the betting tip at the Amsterdam Arena. Oranje slumped to an unexpected 2-0 loss away to Bulgaria in their last match while Azzurri overcame a nervy start to register a comfortable 2-0 home win against Albania.

Netherlands vs Italy Preview

Netherlands have parted company with Danny Blind and Fred Grim will be in the dugout to oversee this match. Stefan de Vrij is the only injured player in the squad with a bruised foot keeping him out of action. Wesley Hoedt should come back in at centre-back alongside Bruno Martins-Indi while Wesley Sneijder and Memphis Depay are in line to start.

Italy have no fresh injury concerns but changes are expected for this friendly encounter. Daniele Rugani and Alessio Romagnoli should play either side of Leonardo Bonucci in a three-man defence, with Mattia De Sciglio and Davide Zappacosta providing width. Eder should pip Andrea Petagna to a starting berth alongside Andrea Belotti in attack.

Netherlands vs Italy Prediction

Netherlands are in bad shape at the moment with just a single win from their last four matches and that came against Luxembourg. They were beaten at home by France and could only draw 1-1 in a friendly away to Belgium. However, their shock defeat in Bulgaria was a new low and Oranje will be looking to respond.

Italy left it late to draw against Spain in their opening World Cup qualifier but have looked mightily impressive since then. They came out on top in a 2-3 goal-fest away to Macedonia and eased to a 0-4 victory in Liechtenstein. Azzurri then held Germany to a 0-0 draw before putting Albania to the sword last time out.

Italy have a good record against Netherlands, losing just one of the last six meetings. Although the home side have a point to prove, the visitors are tipped to continue their impressive head-to-head record.
