Hamilton Academical play host to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership this Tuesday. Read the match predictions to find out why Aberdeen are the betting tip to pick up three points at New Douglas Park

Hamilton vs Aberdeen Preview

Hamilton are still searching for a win after battling back to draw 2-2 away at Partick Thistle and sit 10th, just 2 points off the bottom of the table. Victory over Ross County kept Aberdeen 2nd and they head to Hamilton in good heart after a 0-2 League Cup triumph away at Greenock Morton.

The Accies are likely to pack the midfield here but Rakish Bingham could have his starting berth on the left under threat, after Eamonn Brophy replaced him from the bench to score a crucial equaliser last time out. Alexandre D’Akol has cut a lonely figure up-front this season and could do with some assistance to add to his measly return of just a single goal.

Aberdeen left it late at Greenock Morton but goals from Adam Rooney and Kenny McLean ensured it was a comfortable victory in the end. James Maddison is likely to revert to a more withdrawn role to allow McLean to slot in behind Rooney, as was the case against Ross County.

Team Predictions Hamilton vs Aberdeen

Hamilton 4-1-4-1 formation: Woods; Sowah, Donati, Sarris, Gillespie; MacKinnon; Brophy, Crawford, Docherty, Imrie; D’Akol

Aberdeen 4-4-1-1 formation: Lewis; Considine, O’Connor, Reynolds, Logan; McGinn, Shinnie, Maddison, Hayes; McLean; Rooney

Hamilton halted a run of defeats with back-to-back 1-1 draws at home to both St. Johnstone and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. That was before they threw away the lead away to Partick Thistle and looked to be heading for a loss until Brophy’s last-gasp equaliser.

Aberdeen are in fine form, winning 4-0 away at Kilmarnock and at home to Ross County before their cup win last time out. They’ve now won 6 on the bounce and only conceded twice during that sequence, keeping an impressive 4 clean sheets.

That’s something Hamilton could only dream of, having shipped at least one goal in 9 of their previous 10 matches. The Accies just can’t seem to get it right at the back and will have their hands full against a free-scoring Aberdeen side.

I’m betting that Aberdeen will enjoy a comfortable victory here. They’re on a great run and will be desperate to put some pressure on league leaders Celtic. Hamilton just don’t look equipped to deal with the visitors and the home fans may have to endure some grim viewing in this one.
