La Liga preview – Levante vs Real Betis prediction

Levante defender Angel Trujillo is back in training following a two month absence with an eye injury and will press his claims to be part of the match day squad for Friday’s game. Ivan Lopez broke a collarbone in the match against Villarreal in October and is not expected to return until after the winter break.

Real Betis forward Vicenzo Rennella is recovering from a knee injury suffered at the end of last month while 23-year-old Egyptian defender Amro Tarik will have to wait to make his debut until after a hamstring problem is cleared up.  Promising 19-year-old forward Danni Ceballo will be hoping for a start after coming off the bench in the last the four games.

Possible Line-ups

Levante: 4-1-4-1 formation: Martinez; Lopez, Navarro, Feddal, Tono; Mate; Morales, Lerma, Camarasa, Garcia; Deyverson

Real Betis: 4-2-3-1 formation: Adan; Piccini, Gonzales, Westermann, Varela; Torres, N’Diaye; Joaquin, Digard, Cejudo; Castro

Prediction

Levante are one of La Liga’s relegation favourites and gave their survival hopes a lift with the 3-0 win at Sporting Gijon last weekend. Head coach Rubi could be tempted to stick the with his experimental 4-1-4-1 formation in the hopes he has discovered a winning formula after three games in charge. His team was well worth the point in the 1-1 draw at home to a decent Deportivo side in the previous game and the former Real Valladolid boss will be looking to maintain the new-found momentum.

Betis will be glad to be back on the road after a mystifying loss of home form which has resulted in four consecutive defeats. Pepe Mel’s players have fared much better on their travels and are undefeated in five away games since losing at Real Madrid in August.

Levante may be turning a corner under new management but the odds for Real Betis to register their fourth away win of the season look the best value.
