Sunderland vs Leicester Prediction and Football Tips
Premier League football tips – Sunderland vs Leicester prediction
Sunderland are still missing a number of players through injury for the visit of Leicester. John O’Shea, Jack Rodwell, Emanuele Giaccherini and Ricardo Alvarez are all in the treatment room. Considering the excellent win over Everton last week, there are unlikely to be any changes to the Sunderland team for this game.
Having been taken off in Leicester’s previous match, Matty James is out and joins Andy King on the sidelines. The only other major injury concern for Nigel Pearson is striker Leonardo Ulloa but having come back in to form of late, he will be determined to start the match.
Probable Line-ups
Sunderland: 4-3-3 formation: Pantilimon; Jones, Coates, O’Shea, Aanholt; Larsson, Catermole, Gomez; Defoe, Graham, Wickham
Leicester: 3-4-1-2 formation: Schmeichel; Wasilewski, Huth, Morgan; Albrighton, Drinkwater, Cambiasso, Schlupp; Mahrez; Vardy, Ulloa
- Sunderland have won 3, drawn 3 and lost 4 of their last 10 matches
- Leicester have won 6, drawn 1 and lost 3 of their last 10 matches
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Sunderland have scored an average of 0.8 goals and conceded an average of 1.4 goals per game
- Over the course of their previous 10 matches, Leicester have scored an average of 1.7 goals and conceded an average of 1.2 goals per game
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 3 of Sunderland’s previous 10 matches
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 5 of Leicester’s previous 10 matches
- The reverse fixture finished 0-0 at the King Power Stadium
Both of these teams seem to have hit form just at the right time. Sunderland are now undefeated in 3 games and have picked up maximum points from their last 2 Premier League matches. An unlikely escape, just like last season, is on the cards once again for the Black Cats.
However, Leicester are in excellent form, with 6 wins from their last 7 games, the only defeat coming against champions Chelsea.
It’s really between Leicester, Sunderland, Newcastle and Hull for the final relegation spot and as it stands, a point will probably be a good enough result for Leicester, especially as they have QPR at home on the final day. Sunderland on the other hand, have to go for the win, with trips to Arsenal and Chelsea to look forward to.
