Brighton and Hove Albion take on Cardiff City in the Championship this Tuesday evening. Read the match predictions to find out why a draw is the betting tip at Falmer Stadium. Brighton left it late to secure a 2-1 win at home to Sheffield Wednesday in their last match while Cardiff also had a last gasp winner to beat Burton Albion 1-0 at home.

Brighton vs Cardiff Preview

Brighton will be without striker Glenn Murray after he was sent off in the win over Sheff Wed. Tomer Hemed will be his replacement alongside Jamie Murphy in attack, unless Sam Baldock recovers from a calf strain. Bruno has a knock but is in contention to start at right-back while Gaetan Bong is out injured.

Cardiff could be without Anthony Pilkington after he picked up a knock against Burton, though he is expected to make the lineup. The visitors do not have any fresh injury concerns, so it could be a relatively unchanged side. Rickie Lambert will be hoping to start if Pilkington is not passed fit while Peter Whittingham could come into the midfield.

Brighton vs Cardiff Prediction

Brighton needed penalty heroics from David Stockdale and an inspired performance by Anthony Knockaert on Friday night but got the job done and secured a massive win. Newcastle have gone back above them but this is their game in hand, so the Seagulls have a huge incentive to claim maximum points.

Cardiff have put together some good form to move away from the danger zone and are now eight points clear of the relegation places. This will be a tough match for them but the Bluebirds managed to hold Brighton to a 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture, so they’ll be confident of competing in this match.

Brighton have lost just one of their last twenty Championship matches. They’ve scored at least twice in each of their last four home games but will be missing their main men in attack. Cardiff have won each of their last three Championship matches and have a good record in this fixture, avoiding defeat in each of the previous six meetings at this venue.
