Spanish La Liga preview – Las Palmas Vs Rayo Vallecano prediction

For the home side, goalkeeper Javi Varas is suspended following a straight red card against Celta Vigo. Raul Lizoain should deputise between the sticks. Up front, David Simon and Jonathan Viera have both had minor niggles but should start from the beginning for Las Palmas.

For the away side, Tono should come back in goal after missing the previous game because of red card. Paco Jemez will miss Patrick Ebert who will miss the first of his four-game ban. Antonio Amaya and Diego Llorente should continue at the heart of the defence.

Possible Line-ups

Las Palmas: 4-3-3 formation: Lizoain; Castellano, Bigas, Alcaraz, Simon; Mesa, Hernan, Culio; Vieira, Araujo, Jose

Rayo Vallecano: 4-2-3-1 formation: Tono; Nacho, Amaya, Llorente, Quini; Baena, Trashorras; Embarba, Farina, Hernandez; Guerra

Statistics

  • Las Palmas have not won any of their last 6 matches in all competitions
  • Under 2.5 goals have been scored in 7 of the last 10 matches in all competitions for Las Palmas
  • Rayo Vallecano has won just 1 match of the last 6 matches in all competitions
  • Las Palmas has seen under 2.5 goals in their last 4 matches against Rayo Vallecano in all competitions
  • Las Palmas have won their last 3 home matches against Rayo Vallecano in all competitions

Prediction

The home side is looking for their first win this season after picking up two draws and a loss against Atletico Madrid. Their only home game so far was a goal less draw with Levante. The newly promoted outfit needs to start picking vital points at home if they do not want to risk relegation at the end of the season.

The situation isn’t any better for the visitors. They have picked only one point so far and would be desperate to not lose further points. The confidence in the visitor’s camp is really low after comprehensive defeats at the hands of Celta Vigo and Deportivo La Coruna.

Both sides would be desperate for picking maximum points. The pathetic form of the visitors puts the home team at a slight advantage. Las Palmas should end up winners.
