Serie A preview – Sassuolo vs Chievo prediction

Sassuolo manager Eusebio Di Francesco has little reason to change his team and with just Luca Antei on the injury list, has no need to do so. Striker Domenico Berardi came off the bench at Palermo during the week as he continues his recovery and could be in the starting XI this weekend.

Chievo have three players on the injury list and they are Ivan Radovanovic, Paul-Jose M’Poku and Mariano Izco. Riccardo Meggiorini could start in attack in place of Sergio Pellissier, who was replaced by the former after 55 minutes on Wednesday.

Possible Line-ups

Sassuolo: 4-3-3 formation: Consigli; Vrsaljko, Cannavaro, Acerbi, Peluso; Missiroli, Magnanelli, Duncan; Berardi, Defrel, Sansone

Chievo: 4-3-1-2 formation: Bizarri; Frey, Gamberini, Cesar, Gobbi; Castro, Rigoni, Hetemaj; Birsa, Meggiorini, Paloschi

Prediction

Sassuolo have enjoyed an excellent start to the their 2015/16 Serie A campaign and remain unbeaten after 5 games. Having won 3 and drawn 2 of their matches, Sassuolo join Inter Milan as the only teams yet to taste defeat this season. The 1-0 away win at Palermo on Wednesday was the second time Sassuolo have won away from home by that scoreline but they will want to avoid dropped points at home, such as those lost during the 2-2 draw with Atalanta.

Chievo have also started the season in impressive fashion and have 10 points from their 5 games played. Their only set-back was the 1-0 home defeat by Inter Milan but an away draw at Juventus and 3-1 win at Empoli, show that Chievo have what it takes to win games on the road. A win here could see Chievo climb in to the Champions League qualifying places.

However, it won’t be an easy task taking the points away from Sassuolo, who with Domenico Berardi available again could have enough to secure their fourth win this season.
