Carpi v Empoli – Monday 25 April

Carpi are fighting for their lives and stand outside of the relegation places by virtue of goal difference. They got a great result in their last home match when defeating Genoa 4-1. They followed with a backs-to-the-wall performance to hold off Milan in their last game and will probably use counter attacking tactics against the visitors tonight.

12th-placed Empoli have fallen away since registering their last away win, against Turin on 10 January but have shown signs of a return to form in the past three weeks. They have won their last two home games and lost 2-0 against Lazio in their most recent away game. They had previously put up a good show when going down by a single goal at Juventus and have already defeated four of the bottom six sides on their own pitch.
