La Liga preview – Deportivo La Coruna vs Real Madrid prediction.

Lucas Vazquez suffered a knee injury in the 3-2 victory against Valencia at the weekend and won’t make the trip to A Coruna. Gareth Bale sat out the match on Sunday with a knee problem and is considered doubtful. Goalkeeper Kaylor Navas and midfielder Luka Modric were also left out as precautions last weekend but are available if Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane wants to risk them.

Deportivo full-back Fernando Navarro and midfielder Celso Borges are available after being suspended for the match at Villarreal on Sunday when Victor Sanchez’ men became mathematical certainties to avoid relegation. Central midfielder Juan Dominguez looks unlikely to play a part after sustaining yet another injury in a troubled season he will be glad to put behind him. Regular goalkeeper German Lux remains sidelined and Manu will continue between the sticks.

Possible Line-ups

Deportivo La Coruna 4-4-2 formation: Manu; Laure, Arribas, Sidnei, Navarro; Cartabia, Mosquera, Borges, Fajr; Alberto, Lucas

Real Madrid 4-3-3 formation: Navas; Danilo, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Kroos, Casemiro, Rodriquez; Ronaldo, Benzema, Jese

Deportivo La Coruna vs Real Madrid Prediction

Deportivo recorded their first victory in seven games when defeating Villarreal 2-0 in El Madrigal last weekend to book another season in Spain’s top flight.  Their away form can be credited for rescuing the season as they have the worst home record in La Liga this season with four wins and eight draws from 18 matches. Sanchez’ side has lost its last three home games, against Las Palmas (1-3), Barcelona (0-8), Getafe (0-2) and have only won once (2-1 v Levante) at Riazor in 2016. Real Madrid must hope Barcelona follow Atletico Madrid’s lapse last weekend and drop points against Granada which would mean victory against Deportivo would steal the title. They are certainly the form team in La Liga right now with 11 consecutive victories - a run in which they have only once failed to score two or more goals. It may not be enough to win the title but Real Madrid can sign off in style with a comprehensive victory against Deportivo who have conceded 18 times in their last four meetings.
