Portugal didn’t get off to a great start and were beaten 2-0 away to Switzerland, so will need to make amends here. Andorra were also losers in the first match, going down 1-0 at home to Latvia.
Fernando Santos was without Cristiano Ronaldo in Basel and may restore him to the starting lineup here. João Cancelo and Nélson Semedo will be hoping to continue their fledgling international careers in light of right-backCédric Soares missing the call up. Braga Goalkeeper Marafona and Sporting forward Gelson Martins are two uncapped players in the squad.
Andorra boss Koldo Álvarez has little choice but to play with men behind the ball here. That could see a repeat of the lineup which almost kept Latvia at bay last time out. Gabi Riera will once again cut a lonely figure up-front with the young Jordi Aláez and likely to be quickest to support him from midfield.

Portugal vs Andorra Prediction
Portugal matched Euro 2016 hosts France all over the pitch before Eder broke their hearts in Extra Time to secure a 1-0 win and a maiden trophy for the Navigators. Thy were certainly still in party mood when hammering Gibraltar 5-0 in a friendly but came undone against Switzerland last time out.
Andorra have done well to limit the number of goals conceded in recent matches but this will be tougher. They lost 0-1 at home to both St Kitts and Nevis and Moldova before holding Azerbaijan to a bore-draw. A trip to Estonia ended in a 2-0 defeat before they were edged by Latvia in their last match
Portugal were hardly glamorous in the way they won Euro 2016 and came in for criticism for never winning during regulation time. However, the fact remains that they did not lose either. Granted they let in a couple of goals against Switzerland but Andorra don’t have anywhere near the same threat in front of goal and it would be a surprise if the hosts got on the scoresheet.
With Ronaldo in the squad and the need to chalk up a decent win to get up and running, I can see this being a long night for Andorra with a few goals for the visiting side. For that reason I’m taking Portugal to win both halves in place of the extremely short match odds.
