Manchester City vs Everton Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview
Everton head to the Etihad to face Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday. Read the match predictions to find out why Man City are a the betting tip to come out on top.
Manchester City vs Everton Preview
Manchester City suffered their first defeat of the season before the international break, going down 2-0 away to Tottenham Hotspur. They remain at the top of the pile, 4 points ahead of fifth-placed Everton who played out a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace.
Pep Guardiola will be without Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph, so it’s likely to be Sané, Silva and Navas as the attacking midfield trio ahead of Fernando and Fernandinho in the double pivot. Sergio Agüero has 5 Premier League goals this season and is nailed on to start up-front.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has kept faith in Ross Barkley despite his dip in form but his position could be under threat, with Aaron Lennon and Kevin Mirallas waiting in the wings. Jamie McCarthy made his return for Republic of Ireland and could come into contention but Darron Gibson and Muhamed Bešić remain doubtful. That’s likely to mean an unchanged midfield for the Toffees while either Bryan Oviedo or Ramiro Funes Mori will deputise for leighton Baines at left-back.

Manchester City vs Everton Prediction
Man City’s 1-3 success away to Swansea was their tenth successive victory in all competitions. They then ran into a tenacious Celtic side when drawing 3-3 away in the Champions League and were eventually defeated by a well organised Spurs side last time out, so will be looking to bounce back here.
Everton’s unbeaten start to the season came to an abrupt halt when they were dumped out of the EFL cup after a 0-2 home defeat to recently relegated Norwich City. The failed to score next time out when losing 1-0 away to Bournemouth before it was honours even at home to Crystal Palace, courtesy of a Romelu Lukaku equaliser.
It wasn’t long ago that Everton were deemed something of a bogey team for Man City but the Citizens have only lost once against the Toffees in the last 8 meetings and that was at Goodison Park. The last time these sides met at the Etihad, Man City enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 victory.
Kevin de Bruyne is a big miss for the hosts but Sergio Agüero provides a constant threat in front of goal. The visitors have a danger man of their own in Romelu Lukaku who can be hard to contain on a going day. I can see this being an entertaining match with a few goals, which the hosts should edge.
