Free Horse Racing Tip – Balmoral Handicap
This week’s horse racing tip is for the Balmoral Handicap at Ascot on Saturday. As always, our racing tips are free and we’re hoping for another profitable weekend when we’ll be on Third Time Lucky which is a 10/1 chance for the mile handicap.
Ascot stages one of the best Flat meeting’s of the year this Saturday, with a Champions Day card featuring no less than four Group 1 contests as well as the opening Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup Stakes. The Group 2 event provides Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe third Order Of St George with a great opportunity to provide the all-conquering Aidan O’Brien stable with yet another big prize.

From a betting perspective, however, it is the Balmoral Handicap at 4.25 which appeals most and, following four unsuccessful attempts to get off the mark for the season, the Richard Fahey-trained Third Time Lucky looks the one to beat in the race run over Ascot’s straight mile.
Fahey has made no secret of the fact that the mount of talented 5lb claimer Adam McNamara has suffered a few niggling problems this season but this week’s racing tip looks to be hitting top form at just the right time following a couple of excellent efforts at York and Newmarket. Despite only managing third place in attempting to win back-to-back Cambridgeshire’s on his most recent start, the performance was better than it looked as the four-year-old had the worst of both the draw and the ground.
The forecast is good, good to soft in places, and conditions should prove ideal along with his berth in stall 21 at the Berkshire venue. With prize money of £250k up for grabs however our Ascot tip will not have things all his own way with the four-timer seeking Morando the most interesting rival. The Roger Varian-trained colt is the most unexposed runner in the race and could prove better than a handicapper in time but his lack of experience and a draw in stall 3 may count against him on this occasion.
