Watford played out a dull 0-0 draw away at Swansea last weekend and sit 9th in the table on 12 points. Hull are 5 points worse off and stuck in the relegation zone after losing 0-2 at home to Stoke, though they did enjoy a 1-2 victory at Bristol City in the EFL Cup through the week.

Walter Mazzarri is without Stefano Okaka, Kenedy, Isaac Success, Jerome Sinclair and Brice Djadjedje while Daryl Janmaat is a doubt following a shoulder injury. Considering his limited options, the Italian is set to name an unchanged starting XI.

Hull have a growing injury list with Robert Snodgrass the latest casualty. He joins  Greg Luer, Andrew Robertson, Brian Lenihan, Alex Bruce, Dieumerci Mbokani, Moses Odubajo and Allan McGregor on the sidelines. Mike Phelan has limited options but can choose between Will Keane or Abel Hernandez in attack.

Hull’s league form is dismal with a 6-1 drubbing at Bournemouth preceding the defeat to Stoke. They may be buoyed a little by Wednesday’s cup win but will also have tired legs. The Tigers are unbeaten in four visits to Vicarage Road but a more ominous stat is that they have lost 4 Premier League games on the trot.

Hull have kept just a single clean sheet this season which has often given them work to do to get anything out of a game. Meanwhile, Watford haven’t failed to score at home this season and come into this game having registered back-to-back clean sheets. It’s all pointing to a home win but I think Hull will make this a scrap which is reflected in my Correct Score prediction.
