Meanwhile, the Potters took another step in the right direction when winning 3-1 at home to Swansea on Monday night.

West Ham vs Stoke Preview

West Ham are without several players for this one. Winston Reid is serving a suspension while Arthur Masuaku, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll aren’t expected to return from injury until after the international break. Gökhan Töre and Sam Byram are the other players in the treatment room. Simone Zaza looks to be out of favour and could be replaced by the fit again Andre Ayew up-front.

Stoke also have a player suspended after Marko Arnautovic picked up his fifth booking of the season in the win over Swansea. Xherdan Shaqiri was forced off with a hamstring injury in that match, so Mark Hughes will be without two key players. Geoff Cameron is a doubt while Stephen Ireland, Ibrahim Afellay, Jack Butland and Glen Johnson are all out injured.

West Ham vs Stoke Prediction

Things were just starting to come together for West Ham before they lost at Everton. They were unbeaten in 4 matches prior to that setback, which was preceded with 1-0 wins away at Crystal Palace and at home to Sunderland, before they beat Chelsea 2-1 to knock them out of the EFL Cup.

Stoke’s poor start to the season was well documented but they’re now unbeaten in 5 matches and have pulled clear of the relegation zone. Having picked up 2-0 victories at home to Sunderland and away at Hull, their latest win over Swansea makes it 3 on the bounce for the Potters.

West Ham are seeking a third successive home win but still don’t look entirely comfortable in their new surroundings. Stoke arrive in good heart but the injuries to Shaqiri and Arnautovic could be telling. Three of the previous four corresponding fixtures have ended level and the smart money could be on another stalemate here.
