Barnsley head into this match unbeaten in 3 having comfortably beaten Brentford 0-2 away and drawing 2-2 at home to Bristol City prior to the stalemate at Burton. In truth, the Tykes do seem to play with a bit more freedom on the road but look set to give the Oakwell faithful something to shout about here.
Wigan arrive having won just once in their last six matches. The Latics drew 4 games in a row before losing 0-1 to Brighton. They then scraped a 0-1 win away to Cardiff (their first on the road in 9) before slumping to another home defeat against Reading.
Barnsley have only failed to score at home once this season and that was against Newcastle. Defensive lapses have been their achilles heel but in Wigan they have an opponent that has struggled to create chances and more often than not been wasteful in front of goal. I’m tipping the hosts to register a comfortable 2-0 win in this one.
