Cardiff City entertain Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday. Read the match predictions to find out why a draw is the betting tip at Cardiff City Stadium. The Bluebirds were beaten 2-1 away to Newcastle last time out while the Terriers were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham City.

Cardiff City vs Huddersfield Town Preview

Cardiff could welcome back winger Junior Hoilett to the fold and Jazz Richards has recovered from a foot injury to give them a clean bill of health. Peter Whittingham came off the bench to get the consolation goal against Newcastle, so may be restored to the starting XI here.

Huddersfield have fitness concerns surrounding midfielder Kasey Palmer and striker Nahki Wells. Harry Bunn has been struggling with a hamstring compaint and is also a doubt for this match. Joe Lolley is definitely out after undergoing surgery on a foot injury.

Cardiff City vs Huddersfield Town Prediction

Cardiff enjoyed the usual spike in results when switching to a new manager. Neil Warnock guided his side to a pair of wins and one draw in his opening three matches but it’s been back-to-back defeats since. The Bluebirds were particularly wasteful when losing 0-1 at home to Wigan but did make it an interesting end to the game when pulling one back from 2 down away to the league leaders last time out.

After such a promising start to the season, it’s started to go a bit pear-shaped for Huddersfield. Just one win their last five sees them 5 points off the automatic promotion places and a 5-0 thrashing away to Fulham two games back will have further dampened the mood. The Terriers were a goal to the good against Birmingham but let one slip and will be eager to get back to winning ways.

A quick glance at the goal-scoring stats for these sides reveals that neither have been prolific in front of goal recently. The similarities continue when we look at goals conceded which does give some hope that there may be goals in the game. With both sides seemingly out of form, I’m going to sit on the fence and predict a score-draw.
