Ipswich Town lock horns with Nottingham Forest in the Championship on Saturday. Read the match predictions to find out why a home win is the betting tip at Portman Road. The Tractor Boys won 1-2 away at Sheffield Wednesday before the international break while Forest were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Queens Park Rangers.

Ipswich Town vs Nottingham Forest

Ipswich have lost Adam Webster to a hamstring injury meaning Luke Chambers will move across to centre-back with Josh Emmanuel coming in at right-back. Luke Hyam, Tommy Smith, Brett Pitman and Giles Coke are all out injured and 18-year-old Kundai Benyu is in line for his senior debut.

Nottingham Forest are without Hildeberto Pereira who serves the first game of a three match ban following his third red card of the campaign in the draw with QPR. Michael Mancienne returns to the squad while injured trio Matty Cash, Nicklas Bendtner and David Vaughan are close to making a comeback. Daniel Pinillos returns from a long-term injury and should slot in at right back.

Ipswich Town vs Nottingham Forest Prediction

Ipswich are still jostling with the teams in mid-table after their win at Hillsborough but have now lost just once in their last 5 outings. They had comfortably beaten Burton Albion 2-0 prior to the loss away at league leaders Newcastle and were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Rotherham United on their penultimate start.

If Ipswich’s form is up and down, then Nottingham Forest’s is, well, down. A 3-1 victory over Birmingham City four games back is the only success for the Tricky Trees in 12 matches. That was followed 2-1 defeats away at Blackburn and at home to Cardiff, before they lost a third successive match 2-0 away at Reading.

Although Ipswich have drawn a few games, they’ve lost just once at home in their last 7 matches. Nottingham Forest on the other hand, have won just once in 9 on the road. I expect the visitors will play an open attacking game as usual and can get on the score sheet. However, Ipswich are a well drilled side and they should have no trouble breaching Forest’s leaky defence.
