2016 AfrAsian Bank Mauritius Open

The 7,401yd Par 72 layout at Four Seasons Golf Club was designed as a resort course with plenty of room to find these generous fairways and big hitters will have an advantage this week. Course form for much of the field is pretty much non-existent, but the Mauritius Masters has been played at Anahita from 2010-2015 which gives us some betting clues for this week’s two selections. Course knowledge could prove vital this week with high winds forecast mixed in with warm sunshine and showers.

Nicolas Colsaerts 33-1 E/W Ladbrokes

Another player with course form is the Belgian Bomber Nicolas Colsaerts, who won the inaugural  2010 Mauritius Masters at a course he represents on Tour. The ultra chilled Belgian has plummeted down the rankings since his part in the 2012 Miracle in Medinah Ryder Cup earned him a permanent place in the record books, but he is fancied to contend in such a weak looking field. He arrives here off the back of a Tied 15th place in the Volvo China Open a couple of weeks ago, and if he is to find his way back into the winners circle, it could well at this low-grade event, at a venue which ideally suits his huge hitting power game.
