Aberdeen play host to Ross County in the Scottish Premiership this Saturday. Read the match predictions to find out why Aberdeen are the betting tip to win at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen vs Ross County Preview

Aberdeen trail leaders Celtic by 4 points but are keeping pace after winning a third consecutive league game when beating Kilmarnock 0-4 away. They’re 6 points ahead of Ross County who are down to 7th after losing 0-2 at home to St Johnstone.

Derek McInnes will be delighted with his side’s recent form and is unlikely to make any drastic changes to his winning formula. Adam Rooney bagged a brace in the last match and is set to continue up-front, with support from James Maddison in the hole. Jonathan Hayes or Niall Storey could start on the left flank and Niall McGinn will return to the right side after international duty with Northern Ireland.

Ross County have gone a while without winning, so Jim McIntyre could freshen things up. They were exposed on the right-hand side against St Johnstone, prompting Christopher Routis and Jonathan Franks to be replaced by Chris Burke and Tim Chow respectively. Liam Boyce has 6 goals so far this season, so should keep his place in attack.

Team Predictions Aberdeen vs Ross County

Aberdeen vs Ross County Prediction

Aberdeen are yet to lose at home and passed their biggest test of the season so far when following up a 1-0 victory over St Johnstone with a hard-fought 2-1 success against Rangers. They then took their winning run to four matches in all competitions with the easy win away at Kilmarnock and are unbeaten in 5.

After a reasonable start to the campaign, Ross County’s form has nose dived. On the face of it, drawing 0-0 away at both Rangers and Hearts could be considered okay results but the hard work was undone when they were scuppered at home by St Johnstone.

Finding the net has become a real problem for the visitors. Their average over the last 10 matches looks fine but reading between the lines we see that 7 of those were bagged in a one-sided League Cup match with Cove Rangers. In fact, Ross County have only scored once in the last 5 matches and that’s not a great statistic to take to Pittodrie.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen have been getting the job done and their only loss so far was away to Celtic. I just can’t see them coming up short here and expect nothing but a comfortable home win. Ross County aren’t expected to roll over but the quality of the hosts will shine through over the 90 minutes.
