Centre-forward Luiz Adriano has been suffering from flu which means Mario Balotelli should continue to partner Carlos Bacca for AC Milan when they entertain Carpi on Thursday. The three strikers have been left vying for places since Mbaye Niang was ruled out for the season with ankle and shoulder injuries. Central midfielder Juraj Kucka will serve a one-match suspension and could be replaced by Andrea Poli who will be keen impress new manager, Cristian Brocchi.
Carpi manager Fabrizio Castori is forced into changing the side that defeated Genoa 4-1 at the weekend due to the suspension of left-back Riccardo Gagliolo.
