Arsenal must be feeling as low as they have for a while. The Carabao Cup final dream turned into a nightmare for The Gunners and their fans, as they put in a dreadful performance and were beaten 3-0 by Man City at Wembley, the side they face again in the Premier League on Thursday. There are likely to be a few changes to the starting 11 from the team that played in the cup final. Alexandre Lacazette and Santi Cazorla are definitely out injured, while Nacho Monreal picked up an injury in the first half on Sunday. Petr Cech will return in goal.
Man City lifted their first trophy under the management of Pep Guardiola with the easy win over Arsenal on Sunday and they will have been delighted that the goals came from some of their longest serving players; Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva. They will look to go on and win the Premier League and the Champions League, which would complete an amazing treble. Another three points at The Emirates would put them closer to that.
Pep will probably make some changes to the cup final team. Fernandinho injured his hamstring on Sunday and is almost certain to miss out here, meaning Gundogan will take a more defensive role. Vincent Kompany was brilliant on Sunday, but may get a rest here with Stones and Laporte coming in. Fabian Delph was suspended for the final and should be back here. Raheem Sterling has a hamstring injury and may miss out, but Gabriel Jesus is back.
