Diego Simeone has the luxury of an almost fully fit squad to pick from for this Champions League Group C game. The only injury doubt is Luciano Vietto and even he has a decent chance of making the squad. Fernando Torres should start up-front, looking for his 100th goal in all competitions for Atletico.
FC Astana also have a fully fit squad as they make the trip to the Spanish capital. The only player out of their squad is Patrick Twumasi, who continues to serve the suspension he picked up from the earlier rounds of the tournament.

Prediction
Atletico currently sit in second place in Group C, with 3 points from their two games. Having got off to the ideal start with a 2-0 win in Turkey against Galatasaray, Diego Simeone’s team were defeated at home 2-1 by Benfica. Since that defeat, Atletico have drawn 1-1 with rivals Real Madrid and defeated Real Sociedad 2-0 in La Liga. The defeat at home to Benfica was Atletico’s first in the Champions League in 12 games and they will be determined not to lose again in this one.
Although FC Astana are sitting bottom of Group C coming in to this match, they do have a point to their name, thanks to a 2-2 draw with Galatasaray last time out. This is a real learning curve for Astana and they did well in their away match at Benfica, before eventually going down 2-0. This is going to be another tough away trip for Staminir Stoilov’s team and they’ll do well to get anything from it.
Astana will try and frustrate Atletico for as long as they possibly can but the home team have more than enough to see them off.
