Benevento v Juventus Preview
Benevento picked up a rare win when defeating fellow strugglers Hellas Verona on Wednesday and go in search of back to back home wins on Saturday. League leaders Juventus are smarting from the Champions League defeat against Real Madrid and Benevento supporters will be fearing a backlash.
Roberto De Zerbi will be without Gaetano Letizia and Fabio Lucioni who a serving suspensions while Luca Antei and Ledian Memushaj are sidelined with injury. However the manager welcomes back first choice goalkeeper Christian Puggioni who has served a one-match ban following his 7th minute dismissal against Lazio last weekend.
January signing Cheick Diabate scored twice against Verona in midweek, taking his tally to three, and will be hoping he can add more in Benevento’s attempt to pull off a an unlikely escape for the bottom three.
Andrea Barzagli and Federico Bernardeschi are sidelined as they continue their recoveries and Juventus will probably line up with minimal changes form the side that lost 3-0 to Real Madrid on Tuesday. Their most creative player this season has been Miralem Pjanic with eight assists in Serie A. The midfielder missed Tuesday’s defeat and Sami Khedira could be asked to make way for his return.

Benevento v Juventus Prediction
The game is almost up for Benevento who are 13 points from safety with just eight games remaining. While they’ve recently enjoyed victories against relegation candidates Verona and Crotone, it appears they’ll need a miracle to survive for another season in Serie A.
De Zerbi’s men have certainly given it there all after a disastrous start to life in the top tier, losing the first 14 games and picking up their first point in a 2-2 draw at home to Milan in December. The first win came at home to Chievo on 30th December and since then, Benevento have won of the last six at home.
Juventus are four points clear of Napoli at the top of Serie A and will see this as a chance to take another step towards securing their seventh successive title. Max Allegri’s side is undefeated in the league since losing 3-2 at Sampdoria in November and has won eight of the last nine on the road.
Paulo Dybala (18) has overtaken Gonzalo Higuain (15) as Juve’s leading scorer in Serie A this term, scoring four times in the last five league games and is one to consider for goalscorer bets. Dybala also edges Higuain for first goals, opening the scoring seven times compared with six for his team mate.
It’s difficult to imagine the points going anywhere other than Juventus but we predict the Old Lady to win by a typically narrow margin.

Benevento had spent their entire history playing in the lower divisions in Italy until getting promoted via the play offs at the end of last season. As such, they have little record against the giants of Italian football save for the meeting at the Allianz Stadium in Turin last November.
It was a huge occasion for Benevento, especially as the club was on a record breaking run of defeats. The team gave a good account, leading for almost half the game following Amato Ciciretti’s 19th minute goal. However, the resistance was finally worn down and Juventus went on to win 2-1 with goals from Higuain and Juan Cuadadro
