UEFA Champions League quarter final football tips.

The 2014/15 Champions League has already witnessed some shock results, none more so than Arsenal’s elimination at the hands of Monaco in the round of 16. With all 3 remaining Premier League clubs dismissed in the last round, it will be the second time in 3 years that quarter-finals will not feature an English team.

Monaco’s reward for knocking out Arsenal is a draw against Juventus. The Italian giants seem to be making progress every season and despite finishing second in Group A, recorded a stunning 3-0 victory away to Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16. With Serie A all but wrapped up, Massimiliano Allegri’s team can focus on the Champions League, which makes them very dangerous opponents. The main concern will be the injury to Paul Pogba but if Juventus can negotiate the match against Monaco without him, the French midfielder could make a timely return for the semi-finals. At 11/4 with Bet365, Juventus make a good bet to make the Champions League final, something they last did back in 2003.

Despite the draw against neighbours Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid still make a good bet to win the 2014/15 Champions League at 16/1 with Bet365. Diego Simeone’s team topped Group A and have lost just 3 of their last 21 Champions League matches. Atletico Madrid have not tasted defeat to Real Madrid inside 90 minutes in their last 8 meetings and Carlo Ancelotti will the manager most fearful on this encounter. Atletico Madrid are also a tempting 5/1 to reach the final.

Regardless of which team does progress from the all-Madrid quarter-final, with at least one team sure to progress to the Champions League semi-finals and Barcelona still in the competition, the 9/2 offered by SkyBet for an all Spanish final, like last year, could be tempting. However, with the form of both Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, there could be an upset on the cards. At 11/2 to reach the final with Bet365, PSG have already beaten their quarter-final opponents, Barcelona, once this season and enhanced their credentials by knocking out Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in the previous round. The return to fitness of David Luiz and Thiago Motta could be key for Laurent Blanc.

Looking at some outside bets for the winner of the competition and Juventus are 7/1 to win the Champions League, with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain available at 16/1. All three of which, have what it takes to make the final.
