Derby County take on Leicester City in a televised FA Cup match this Friday night. Read the match predictions to find out why a home win is the betting tip at Pride Park. The Rams come into this match on the back of a thrilling 3-2 victory over Reading while the Foxes were thumped 0-3 away to Southampton.

Derby County vs Leicester City Preview

Derby welcome back Bradley Johnson and Jacob Butterfield to the engine room after the pair served respective suspensions last time out. Markus Olsson made his comeback in the in over Reading and should continue at left-back while Cyrus Christie should get the nod on the opposite side of defence. Tom Ince has been in fine form for the Rams and will be the main danger on the right side of attack.

Leicester are missing the influential Ryad Mahrez because of international duty. He is a th the African Cup of Nations along with Daniel Amartey and Islam Slimani. Leonardo Ulloa was unlikely to feature anyway but is a further doubt because of a thigh injury. After a failed experimental change of formation at Southampton, we should see a standard 4-4-2 from the visitors here.

Derby County vs Leicester City Prediction

Derby look revitalised under Steve McClaren and are on the cusp of a playoff place in the Championship. With a home advantage, they’ll be hoping to cause something of an upset here and prolong their stay in the FA Cup.

Leicester are a shadow of the side that lifted the Premier League title last season. The Foxes are in the lower reaches of the table and are simply not playing with the same intensity and purpose that made them champions.

Derby haven’t lost at home since September, winning seven of nine matches at Pride park during the unbeaten run. Compare that to leicester’s terrible away form and the stage is set for an upset. The Foxes are in a rut and have won just two away games from a possible fifteen on the road in all competitions. I feel this will be a close game but the home side are worth siding with on current form.
