Everton had an absolute nightmare at the Emirates last week, eventually losing 5-1 after being down 4-0 early on. Eliaquim Mangala made his debut after signing on loan from Manchester City and he has come in for early criticism for a poor defensive performance. Manager Sam Allardyce was furious with his team but he has to take a big part of the blame.
Seamus Coleman recently returned from a long term injury and completed 90 minutes against Leicester, but did not start in the last game as playing 2 matches in a few days would have been a big risk. He is likely to play here though as The Toffee’s looked awful defensively last week. Leighton Baines, James McCarthy and Maarten Stekelenburg are all out injured while Ramiro Funes Mori will not quite be fit enough to play.
Crystal Palace had a game of two halves against Newcastle United on Sunday. Roy Hodgson’s side were really slow out of the blocks in the first half and were a goal down at the break. They were much better in the second half though, and equalised with a penalty from Luka Milivojevic before going on to create a number of other chances. They had to settle for a point, and are still in a relatively dangerous position just above the relegation zone.
There are likely to be little changes for Palace for the trip to Goodison Park. This is mainly due to the fact that the club’s injury list is huge. Players that are out include Connor Wickham, Scott Dann, Jason Puncheon, Jeffrey Schlupp, Bakary Sako and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Martin Kelly was added to his list after being forced off through injury against Newcastle.

This is a pretty tough game to call, as both sides have been in and out of form at different points of the season. Everton can be summed up by two completely contrasting performances in their last two games. A hard fought win against Leicester was followed up by a capitulation against Arsenal.
Even though a number of the Everton faithful are not happy with Sam Allardyce at this early stage of his reign, the club are in a decent position in 10th. A top half finish for the Toffees would present a decent season considering how badly they started.
Crystal Palace also changed their manager of course, replacing Frank de Boer with Roy Hodgson. It has been a successful change too, as Palace were bottom of the league with 0 points when the former England national team manager took over. They are now in 14th with a great chance of survival.
The tip is for a draw. Everton just have not looked great, especially at the weekend. Palace, even though they have a number of injury problems, are still a good side with pace on the counter attack. 1-1 looks like offering decent value.
