Free Horse Racing Tip – Arc de Triomphe

Free Horse Racing Tip – Arc de Triomphe

This week’s free horse racing tip is for the Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly on Sunday where we’ve identified an outstanding each way prospect for the 12 furlong Group 1 race. Hopefully, readers will be investing some of the winnings from our free racing tip for the Cambridgeshire last weekend.

With the defection of main market rival La Cressonniere, the Roger Varian-trained Postponed is now as short as 7-4 and the bookmakers’ tip to lift Sunday’s Qatar Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe. The son of Dubawi’s form this season looks by far and away the best on offer but the stable has been plagued with a virus for most of the summer. Despite the obvious claims of the five-year-old, taking such a short price about the Coronation Cup and Juddmonte International winner in Europe’s most valuable race comes with a health warning and we’ll look for an alternative for this week’s racing tip.

The Japanese have been trying to win the race for some time now without success, going agonisingly close with the likes of El Condor Pasa in 1999 and Orfevre four years ago. While Makahiki is a credible challenger, the Deep Impact colt does not look in the same class as those two horses. The admirable Found looks sure to run her usual game race but Aidan O’Brien’s filly has managed to find one too good on her last five starts and will struggle to break that trend in this much tougher contest. Dual Derby winner Harzand can be fancied if his below-par effort in the Irish Champion Stakes can be forgiven but at the 14-1 available with bet365 and William Hill, the each-way value of the race lies with the horse who finished fourth on that occasion, the Andre Fabre-trained New Bay.

Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe tip

2 points each-way New Bay 14-1 bet365 (1/4 odds 1.2.3)

No trainer has come close to the record seven victories achieved by Fabre in the race and while the son of Dubawi is hardly the equal of previous winners Peintre Celebre or Hurricane Run the four-year-old has every chance of building on last year’s third place behind Golden Horn following a light campaign this season. The heavy ground was against New Bay on his seasonal reappearance at Chantilly but the mount of Vincent Cheminaud fared much better when taking a Group 3 contest at Deauville back in August. Beaten just over five lengths by Almanzor at Leopardstown New Bay will appreciate both the faster ground and extra two furlongs this weekend and is the one to take advantage should Postponed fail to run his race.
