Free Horse Racing Tip – Cesarewitch
This week’s free horse racing tip concerns the Betfred Cesarewitch. A maximum field of 34 looks guaranteed for Saturday’s feature at Newmarket but whether strong ante-post favourite St Michel will figure among the final list of runners remains to be seen as the well-handiapped Sir Mark Prescott-trained gelding still needs a minimum of four horses above him in the weights to drop out in order to gain a place in the 2m 2f Heritage Handicap.
Should the three-year-old make the cut at the weekend the son of Sea The Stars will find himself 15lb well in compared to future handicaps and is sure to take plenty of beating. Apart from the obvious claims of St Michel the Daid Pipe-trained Starchitect is another who could prove ahead of the handicapper while at a bigger price last year’s short head runner-up Oriental Fox may do best of those at the head of the weights. However, we have identified an each-way fancy for this weeks racing tip.
Ceasrewitch Tip
2 points each-way Pyromaniac 12-1 Skybet and Betway (1/4 odds 1,2,3,4)
At the 12-1 available with Skybet and Betway the Tony Martin inmate Pyromaniac is a strong fancy to give the Ebor-winning handler yet another big race victory. Number 33 in the declerations, the mount of talented jockey Tom Marquand is guaranteed his place and looks another potential major gamble for the shrewd stable – as was Heartbreak City’s easy success in Europe’s richest handicap, the Betfred-sponsored Ebor back in August.
Following a couple of ‘ sympathetic ‘ rides earlier in the season the gelding was well supported to take a valuable handicap at Leopardstown last month and after travelling like the winner for most of the one mile six furlong trip just failed to hold the late challenge of stablemate Quick Jack who – despite finishing a close third in last year’s Cesarewitch – has been taken out of the race by Martin who relies on main hope Pyromaniac and possibly Artful Artist.
While the son of Invincible Spirit will be tackling this extreme trip for the first time the horse’s style of running suggests that shouldn’t prove a problem and off a mark of 87 hardly looks overburdened.
