Genoa vs Palermo Prediction and Preview – 17/01/16
Serie A preview – Genoa vs Palermo prediction.
Genoa wide man Diego Perotti is available for selection after serving his three-match ban for being sent off against Bologna last month. There are doubts surrounding defender Issa Cissokho who has missed the last two games with an unknown injury and midfielder Tino Costa who has been receiving treatment on a calf injury sustained prior to the break. Leonardo Pavoletti has scored four goals in three games since returning from suspension and will hope to keep the sequence going on Sunday.
Palermo boss Davide Ballardini has no new injury concerns following last weekend’s victory in Verona. Defensive midfielder Enzo Maresca is unlikely to figure having missed the last five games through injury and defender Roberto Vitiello is expected to be sidelined until mid-February.

Prediction
Genoa ended a run of five successive league defeats when winning 2-0 at Atalanta on Sunday. The victory kept Gian Piero Gasperini’s side four points above the relegation zone in 17th place. Genoa won four of their first six home games this season (with one draw and one defeat) but have lost the last three and are on their worst run of form at Stadio Comunale since suffering four straight home defeats in 2012.
Palermo are two points above Genoa in 16th place and notched their third away win of the campaign when defeating bottom of the league Verona 1-0 last weekend. It was Palermo’s first clean sheet since defeating Chievo 1-0 at home on 8 November since when they have picked up seven points from seven games.
The last two meeting between the clubs in Genoa have ended 1-1 which may suit both managers for different reasons.
