The Dean & Deluca Invitational is hosted at the Colonial Country Club in Texas and is not overlong at 7,204 yards, a Par 70, with only two Par 5s.  The course will suit the real ball strikers in the field as the premium is on accuracy to deal with heavily tree-lined fairways and a liberal amount of bunkers guarding the greens. The greens themselves are some of the smallest on the PGA tour and Colonial doesn’t play to the usual advantages of the modern day bombers.

He’s a bit of a standing dish here but not having a great season so far. However, I think Johnson is worth having on side as he has a remarkable record around this course, with two wins and two top fives since 2010. I’ve got no problems with his accuracy or tee to green stats but, it’s a slight worry that he has lost his way a little with his putting. I’m hoping the course he loves and knows like the back of his hand will bring a change to his putting woes and see him challenge strongly this week.
