A return to the Jack Nicklaus Memorial course is always welcome, and this Par 72, 7,392 yard track will test the best. As with most of Jack’s designs, many of the holes suit faders of the ball, and accuracy of the tee and players who are accurate with their second shots will do well. Greens are small, undulating and fast. There is no doubt that the winner at some point is going to have to scramble around here, and another key attribute will be not to get too flustered when things go against you, this is underlined by the number of experienced players that have won this event. The field has real substance as usual, and the big three, Spieth, Day and McIlroy are all in form and won recently.

Memorial Tournament Golf Betting Tip

Rickie Fowler 23/1 E/W Betbright (6 Places)

Fowler will be motivated to get his name in the headlines again, and remind the media that it’s the Big 4! He has added experience to his undoubted talent, and looks as if he will win at least once every year on tour. Whilst he missed the cut in the last event, it’s forgivable as he has taken time out to have a break before a busy few months, and I think his game is made for this event. He hits some terrific irons, and he is a very inventive scrambler when he misses greens. If his driver behaves, he could have a decent week, and treble the odds of the Big 3 could look very tasty come Sunday. Whilst he has really only had a second to his name here in 2010, I’m willing to give him a chance again this year, especially when he ranks second in Par 4 scoring this year.
