Having fancied Rikard Karlberg to go well in this event for a while, it was somewhat galling to see the Swede storm his way through the field on Sunday afternoon to finish 2nd at Wentworth. The obvious negative is that stellar performance has caused the layers to smash up his price for this weeks gig, but I am still happy to put him up as a selection as last weeks performance was no flash in the pan.
The 2015 Open D’Italia winner has been catching the eye in recent starts with solid finishes including a Tied 8th in the Shenzhen International and a fast finishing Tied 10th in the Irish Open a couple of weeks ago. The hole-in-one specialist who has bagged two aces in recent weeks, including one at Wentworth last week, has shown with a Tied 4th place finish at this track in 2013, that this layout suits his eye. Expect another bold show in an event where the home contingent has a good record.
