ThePar 72, 7,392 yard Jack Nicklaus Memorial course at Muirfield Village is a test for the best and the field has real substance with the big three, Spieth, Day and McIlroy all in form and having won recently.

Many of the holes suit faders of the ball and accuracy off the tee, so players who are accurate with their second shots will do well. The winner will have to scramble at some point as the greens are small, undulating and fast, so another key attribute will be to stay calm when things go against you.

The Memorial Golf Betting Tip

Matt Kuchar 22/1 E/W Paddy Power (7 places)

It was a very strange week for the ‘Kuch’ last week, where he finished tied 6th, after a truly awful first round and a most unlikely Kuch treble bogey at the last in the second round closing hole. Apart from those calamities he played some very decent golf and he is one of the most ‘on’ players in the field. He’s a past winner here and has a great record, with countless top twenties and top tens. As with Fowler, he’s an excellent scrambler and has the know how to get his ball around here, hopefully his bad shots last week will not be repeated.
