This week’s golf betting tips are in action at the BMW Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club, Carmel, Indiana which is the third of the four FedEx Cup Playoff Series events. The field is restricted to the top 70 in the standings but the late withdrawal of Henrik Stenson with his troublesome knee problem now reduces the field to 69 players.

This course was last used to host this event in 2012 but is probably best remembered as the venue where John Daly and his mullet burst onto the scene with his famous win in the 1991 USPGA Championship. The Pete Dye designed Par 72 7,516yd layout is a long track which could play even longer this week with rain forecast for the first three days of the tournament.

The tree-lined course has generous fairways and small greens, and water comes into play on a few holes including the final three holes which are amongst the toughest on this layout (a tip for in-running punters). Rory Mcllroy won here in 2012 with a winning score of 20 under par so this track is very scorable, particularly in soft conditions.

Matthew Fitzpatrick provided the column with each-way returns in Switzerland last week and hopefully, I have a couple of value golf tips which could go well this week.

BMW Championship Golf Tips

Patrick Reed 25/1 E/W BetVictor The first tip this week is the super confident Patrick Reed who is the current leader in the FedEx standings. The American has been in a rich vein of form recently with a win in The Barclays a couple of weeks ago and a fast finishing Tied 5th last week at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Although this is his debut at Crooked Stick, the fact this layout is quite forgiving off the tee should suit his ultra-aggressive style of play. To be honest, I expected a shorter price to be chalked up by the layers so I am happy to put up him up as our main golf betting tip this week. Ryan Moore 50/1 E/W Betfred The second tip this week is Ryan Moore, who arrives here off the back of two solid showings in the first two play-off events. He finished Tied 7th at The Barclays and followed that with a Tied 8th finish in Boston last week, he also won a month ago in the John Deere Classic. He is definitely one of the most in-form players in the field. He showed with a Tied 10th finish here in the 2012 renewal that this is a layout which suits his eye and, as we have said previously, he is particularly dangerous in these potentially low scoring events. He represents a solid each-way He showed with a Tied 10th finish here in the 2012 renewal that this is a layout which suits his eye and, as we have said previously, he is particularly dangerous in these potentially low scoring events. He represents a solid each-way value tip.
