Golf Betting Tips For Travelers Championship

This week’s free golf betting tips for the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.

It’s a completely different set up to last week’s Major due to the rain-softened course and whilst some players managed a few birdies at Baltusrol, it will be nowhere near the birdie fest needed for players to win here.  Whilst the course has had a few alterations to narrow some of the fairways and the greens reshaped, I really don’t think it’s going to have much bearing on how the course will play.

Basically when looking for this week’s golf tip, the player will have to go low, have good scrambling skills and a good four days with the putter. It’s a fair test, and it’s noteworthy that some players do seem to have an affinity with the course. As ever, I’m always a little wary of the players that contended at the sharp end last week, due to weariness and also possibly lack of motivation.

We successfully tipped Branden Grace E/W at 55/1 at the USPGA, but I’m not sure he will perform again this week. He let a possible winning chance get away and that will still possibly be nagging away at him. Bubba Watson has a stellar record at this event, but the defending champion seems not to be in the best mental state recently and has notably given up a few times this season when he’s hit a bad shot. He may go close, but I’m willing to swerve him.

Travelers Championship Tips

Paul Casey 25/1 Paddy Power (7 Places) He's not a player I would generally back, as he has only had the one win on the PGA circuit after trying for quite some years. But this course really suits him, and he's played some very nice golf at Baltusrol. He never really got in contention last week, but he came tied 10th, with all his rounds in the 60s. His irons have always been a strong part of his game, and he will give himself many chances this week. Casey lost in a play off last year, and he's a fair price to go one better. Ryan Moore 55/1 Stan James (6 Places) Moore has always been one of those golfers who just isn't quite top class, but always has a chance at going well in an event where the set up of the course is as easy as this one. That's underlined when we look at his record, with five top seven places in this event. It's not been a stand out season for him but the price justifies a small play on him this week. I feel at some point this season he will come back to form and this track is ideal for him. There's a slightly trappy look to this event so I'm only going to make just two selections and advise to keep stakes low.
