Golf Betting Tips – Masters 2016

Golf Betting Tips – Masters 2016
Thursday, 7 April 2016
13:00

The first of three golf betting tips for the Masters tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club from Thursday 7 April. Another fascinating week is in store with a collection of inform contenders already having the green jacket, and a whole group of hungry youngsters hoping that Spieth will be helping to put the jacket on his shoulders come Sunday.

The course itself is very well known to golf watchers, with the course playing around 7435 yards, consisting of undulating fairways and lightning fast greens. It helps if you are long around here, and can play a high draw. Players have to bring a very good putting touch, as the winner will have to hole a clutch of nerve-jangling 6 & 7 footers for par. Holes to look out for are the Par 5s, 13th and 15th, where in-form players can really make a score over the four days, and for me the run of holes to 9 to 11 are the ones to survive. If I have an in-running punt on Sunday, I will wait for those holes to be completed.

It was an up and down week on the betting front at the Shell but at least, Henrik Stenson delivered on the 15/8 tip for Top European. Still can’t win an event.

Golf Betting Tips – The Masters

1 point ew Jason Day – 13/2 SkyBet

I really fancy Jason Day to win this week. He showed in winning the Matchplay that his short game is better than ever, and it was noticeable that his chipping was razor sharp with a full variety of runners and flops in his armoury. He appears to have nerves of steel with the putter and it is palpable the confidence in his own game. The only negative was a few wayward drives, but Augusta is plenty wide enough to get away with a few. He’s been a little indifferent in the last few years, but he now has a major under his belt and I just think he’s a E/W shout to nothing.

Sky will have their usual comprehensive coverage, I just wish I could get a spread bet on how many times Monty will say, all credit to him/we wish him well, McGinley mentions momentum and the Colonel misidentifies a player completely. There’s a drinking game in there somewhere, but we would all be drunk within an hour!
