Free golf betting tips on The Barclays, this week’s US PGA Tour event from the notoriously tough Bethpage Black Course at Farmingdale, New York

This the first leg of the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs and the Top 125 qualifiers throughout the season will battle out over the Par 71 7,468yd track, which last hosted this event in 2012. The critically acclaimed layout, which was designed by the renowned golf architect A W Tillinghast, has also played host to both the 2002 and 2009 US Open Championships. With Ryder Cup places still up for grabs on the US Team and wildcard picks still available on the European team, there is plenty of added interest for my latest golf betting tips to go along with the 10 million dollar pot of gold on offer at the Tour Championship final in four weeks time.

Make no mistake, this course will be a real stern test for our golf tips, and it really showed its teeth in the 2009 US Open when Lucas Glover’s winning score was 3 over par. Thankfully the winning score of 10 under here in the 2012 Barclays is probably a fairer reflection on how this course will play this week. Players who can play in the baking hot windless conditions which are forecast for the tournament will have an advantage. We don’t have enough recent course form to pinpoint the exact type of player to follow here, but this quality layout will certainly test all aspects of the game.

The Barclays Golf Betting Tips

Brandt Snedeker 35/1 E/W Paddy Power (7 Places) The first of the Barclays golf tips is a player who I fancy to go well this week, Brandt Snedeker, who currently stands just outside the automatic places for the US Ryder Cup team for Hazeltine. The unassuming American is certainly trending towards a strong showing this week after a Tied 3rd last week in the Wyndham, and a Tied 5th in the recent RBC Canadian Open. He boasts strong course form having finished 2nd here in the 2012 Barclays and is the type of player who historically goes well on these tougher layouts. With the added motivation of the Ryder Cup, (and maybe another 10 million dollar payday!), he looks decent value particularly with the 7 places available with Paddy Power. Brooks Koepka 33/1 E/W Stan James (6 Places) The second Barclays golf tip is the huge hitting Brooks Koepka who is fancied to go well on his course debut this week. The American looks odds on at the moment to make his Ryder Cup debut in a few weeks time in Hazeltine and he is another player who arrives here in really solid form. After a mid season injury, he has come back strongly with a Tied 4th in the USPGA Championship and a Tied 9th in the recent Travelers Championship. This potential superstar, who can even out swagger Dustin Johnson, is blessed with a silky putting stroke to compliment his power hitting, and he is another who appeals as good each-way value in this quality heat.
