It’s the final FedEx PGA event of the season, and we are down to the final thirty players. The event does beg the question what do you get a multi-millionaire who has everything? Well, it seems another ten million as that’s what the overall winner will be trying to fit into his wallet.

Anyway, let’s hope we can win a little ourselves from this week’s golf betting tips. This Par 70, 7301-yard course is a fair test, and whilst the winner will probably need to go low (-10 or more), it’s no pushover by any means.  There’s not really any bias to the longer hitters so this week is all about accuracy of the tee and finding the greens in regulation (GIR).

I’m not going to tip up any of the players at the top of the list, mainly on grounds of value. Whilst Dustin Johnson is playing some great golf, I don’t like his price and also his record is not that great at East Lake. I’m not really sure which Rory will turn up and Day seems to have some different ailment every week. I’ve overlooked Spieth on terms of value, but I can see why punters would be drawn to him here, as he’s a previous winner as well as runner-up. So I’m willing to look down the field for the Tour Championship tips.

Tour Championship Tips

Patrick Reed 20/1 E/W Bet Victor Reed has been playing some solid stuff lately and does not lack for motivation. He has a live chance of pocketing the $10 million bonus and showing the Europeans that he is ready for the Ryder Cup challenge. Whilst he not got a fantastic record here, 19th and 27th previously, there are still grounds for believing he will go close. Mainly that he is in top form and also that he is showing sights of maturity. Instead of shouting the odds all the time, he is willing to let his golf do his talking for him nowadays. Whilst he does not have great GIR figures, he is one of the best scramblers about and is tipped to go close this week.  Charles Schwartzel 40/1 E/W Paddy Power The South African is not usually a player I back, simply as he does not win enough outside of his homeland. But at the price in a small field, I am willing to give him a chance. He played nicely at Crooked Stick and he also has decent GIR figures for the season, (25th), with a healthy scrambling percentage as well (55th). He had a very mixed bag last year, with scores of 68 and 66, bookmarking middle scores of 79 and 77, so maybe not a player to have too much on. We don't quite know his motivation levels but at this price, we don't need to risk much to get a nice return. I suppose if it all goes wrong for him he can always sell his teeth to an ivory poacher. Have your TV brilliance level dimmed when he comes on! Ryan Moore 8/1 Bet Victor (To make Ryder Cup Team) With the Ryder cup looming, it will be interesting to see who will get the last pick for the USA team. I can't think Bubba is in the best mood after getting overlooked for the first three picks, and for me, he is an uneasy odds on favourite to get the last pick. If Ryan Moore can put together four good rounds, this in-form player's odds of 8/1 may look very overpriced.
