Granada play host to Espanyol in La Liga this Friday night. Read the match predictions to find out why an away win is the betting tip at Nuevo Estadio de Los Cármenes. Granada are already relegated and this will be their final chance to claim a long overdue win. Espanyol are safely in the top-half of the table and will be keen to end what has been a decent season on a high.

Granada vs Espanyol Preview

Granada have Dimitri Foulquier suspended, so Ruben Vezo is set to deputise at right-back. Uche Agbo looks set for a watching brief, with Rene Krhin and Victorien Angban likely to form the double-pivot in midfield. Jeremie Boga should play on the left-flank but Hector has returned to fitness and is another option. Matthieu Saunier, Artem Kravets and Franck Tabanou are ruled out through injury.

Espanyol will recall Pablo Piatti to the left-wing after he was ineligible to face parent club Valencia last time out. That will mean Jose Jurado switching to the right and Javi Fuego and Victor Sanchez playing in the engine room. Óscar Duarte and Javi López are definitely out while there are some doubts around the fitness of Reyes, Roberto Jiménez, Salva Sevilla and Papakouly Diop.

Team Predictions Granada vs Espanyol

Espanyol 4-4-2 formation: Lopez; Martin, Lopez, Reyes, Navarro; Piatti, Sanchez, Fuego, Jurado; Baptistao, Moreno

Granada vs Espanyol Prediction

Granada’s six-year stint in the top-flight of Spanish football will end at the final whistle of this match. It’s been nothing short of a disastrous campaign for Los Nazaríes who are thirteen points adrift at the foot of the La Liga table. With only what’s left of their pride to play for, I feel most of the squad will be looking to forget this disaster and get on their summer holidays.

Espanyol had a brief spell where European qualification was a possibility and although that’s now beyond them, it’s a top-half finish and job done for Quique Sánchez Flores. Los Periquitos have put in some impressive displays this season but inconsistency has been their downfall. They’ll be looking to win this to try and move ahead of Eibar and Alves who sit just one point ahead.

Granada have lost their last seven La Liga matches, conceding at least twice in each of those defeats. Although the visitors haven’t been scoring much of late, I can see them bagging a couple of goals here. As the hosts have failed to score in their last three home matches, Espanyol are tipped to win with a clean sheet.
