Hartlepool v Portsmouth – Saturday 30 April

Hartlepool put together a great run of results in March (W5 D2 L0) but have suffered a few reverses lately. The have lost the last two games to promotion-chasing Accrington and Oxford but showed they still have the desire to compete even though their safety has long been assured.

Portsmouth booked a place in the playoffs with two wins in the last two games. They are five points from an automatic promotion and with two games remaining it would require a near miracle to finish third. Pompey have had a fairly easy run in yet managed to lose at second-bottom York and at home to Plymouth in the last two weeks.

Portsmouth have been susceptible to losing to the underdog when odds-on favourite and Hartlepool are a big price at 9/2 with bet365 to join the likes of York, Newport and Barnet who have recently upset the odds to beat the visitors.
