Horse Racing Tip – 3.45 Haydock 28-05-16

Haydock stage an excellent day’s racing on Saturday afternoon featuring the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes along with a couple of Group 3 contests. Eight horses have been declared for the card’s six-furlong highlight at 3.45pm which can go the way of Quiet Reflection for the in-form stable of Karl Burke.

With nine winners from just over fifty runners in the last couple of weeks Burke is enjoying a bit of a purple patch after suffering a quiet spell during April, one exception being the victory of Quiet Reflection in a Group 3 contest at Chantilly.

That was the third straight success for the daughter of Showcasing since finishing a promising fifth in York’s Lowther Stakes on just her second start. Wins at Ayr and Newmarket followed last autumn and with the forecast good to soft ground looking ideal the mount of Dougie Costello can take advantage of the weight she receives from favourite Gifted Master and Coventry Stakes victor Buratino to continue the rich vein of form enjoyed by connections.

That French victory was all the more meritorious as Burke felt the filly would come on for the run and in a recent interview expressed his delight at the improvement shown by the horse recently. As well as the two horses mentioned Henry Candy’s La Rioja and Donjuan Triumphant could also have a part to play in a high class renewal but at a double-figure price Quiet Reflection looks the value bet.
