Inverness Caledonian Thistle take on Glasgow Rangers this Friday. Read the match predictions to find out why a draw the betting tip in this Scottish Premiership encounter.

Inverness vs Rangers Preview

Inverness maintained their unbeaten run courtesy of Liam Polworth’s dramatic late equaliser in a 1-1 draw away to Hamilton Academicals. They sit 8th in the table on on 9 points, 3 behind 5th-placed Rangers who secured a 2-0 victory over Partick Thistle last time out.

Caley Thistle boss Richie Foran appears to have steadied the ship after a shaky start, so changes are expected to be kept to a minimum here. That will mean a 5 man midfield, leaving Lonsana Doumbouya as a lone striker. He’ll be relying on support from Polworth and King on the flanks whenever possible. In the middle of the park, Scott Boden could come in for Greg Tansey but the same back four should start here.

Rangers answered their critics by turning in a professional performance against Partick Thistle, so Mark Warburton may be keen for some continuity. Nico Kranjčar and Andy Halliday both scored from midfield and should retain their starting berths in Joey Barton’s absence. Kenny Miller will be the target man with Martin Waghorn and Barry McKay looking to run in behind on either side of a 3-man attack.

Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish Premiership - Betting tips, previews & predictions

Inverness vs Rangers Prediction

Inverness proved just how hard they can be to beat at home when holding Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic to a 2-2 draw last month. They followed up by hammering Dundee 3-1 and the last-gasp draw away at Hamilton sees them in search of a fifth game unbeaten here.

Rangers got back to winning ways with an easy 5-0 rout against Queen of the South in the League Cup but were once again found out on the road when losing 2-1 at Aberdeen. They looked in good shape when recording a routine victory over Partick Thistle but need to replicate that form on their travels.

It took three goals for Ross County to see off Inverness in their only home defeat of the campaign thus far, so don’t expect the hosts to roll over in this one. Add to that the fact that Rangers have only won once away from home in the league and we could be looking at a stalemate here.

Inverness haven’t failed to score at home while Rangers are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home. I’m expecting to see an open game here with a few goals but just get the feeling that both sides will cancel each other out.
